Degrees and Certifications:

Associate of Arts

BSE in Early Childhood Education with 5th and 6th grade endorsement

Master's in Gifted and Talented Education

Professional Development:

I have completed the required hours of professional development each year of my profession.

Current Position:

This is my fourth year at Nashville Elementary School.  I am extrememly excited about getting to teach fifth grade math again!

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career in January 2012 teaching A.L.E. (Alternative Learning Environment) at Murfreesboro Elementary.  The following year I taught first grade.  After that, I taught 3rd and 4th grade Science.  The next year I moved to Nashville School District and taught sixth grade Math and English Language Arts.  Then I moved to fifth grade Math and that is the same position I currently hold.

Family Information:

I have been married for almost six years to Travis Turner.  We went to school together and have been friends since the 4th grade.  We have a son named Tripp.  He will be one year old in September!  He is such a joy to our lives and I will be glad to show you a picture if you ask!  Two of my husband’s sisters live with us.  Marlee is eighteen years old and Karley is seventeen.  They both have jobs, but they really love to babysit Tripp.   We also have a Yorkie named Max that is very, very rotten!

Personal Information:

I absolutely love being a teacher.  It is definitely my calling.  I am blessed to have a career that I can get excited about.  I look forward to going to work and spending my days watching children learn and grow.  My students always make me laugh and teach me all kinds of things.  They keep a special place in my heart even when the school year is over.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, our friends, and our families.  I love to play with my dog!  I am an active person who enjoys fitness and any outdoor activity, especially deer hunting.  I also really enjoy doing crafts and reading a good book.
