5th Grade Teacher
I am a graduate of DeQueen High School and Southern Arkansas University. I received my master's degree in elementary education from Kaplan University.
I have a degree in K-12 music education, elementary education 1-6, middle level social studies. I have an ESL endorsement and I am pre-AP certified.
I have completed the required numbered professional development hours each of my 23 years of teaching.
I have been teaching either 5th or sixth grade at NES since 2001. I teach 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies presently.
I began my teaching career at Emerson School where I taught k-12 music for a number of years before gaining elementary classroom certification. I taught for two years at Smackover School, where I taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies as well as some music classes. I attended the ESL Academy at DeQueen and received an ESL endorsement on my teaching license, I am also Pre-AP certified.
I have been married for 26 years and have two sons who graduated from NHS and now are attending ASU persuing chemistry degrees. They both plan to eventually earn degrees in pharmacy. My husband teaches 9th grade math at NJHS. I love animals and have lots of pets. We also have a farm near Horatio.
Although I rarely have time to do so, I love to read fiction novels. I enjoy playing with my dogs and donkeys, spending time with my family, and helping my husband on the farm. Otherwise I love to just be home.
